Youth Drowns in River Jhelum in Sumbal, Rescue Efforts Underway

Srinagar, July 27 : An 18-year-old youth drowned in the river Jhelum near the old bridge in Sumbal, North Kashmir’s Bandipora district, on Saturday afternoon.

An official told Kashmir Dot Com that the youth, identified as Huzaif Ahmed Shah, son of Hilal Ahmed Shah a resident of Naniara Sumbal drowned in river Jehlum.

Following the incident, locals, police, the SDRF, and the 13 RR Army promptly reached the spot and initiated rescue efforts to locate the boy.

The police have taken cognizance of the incident and started an investigation. (KDC)
