GMC Srinagar & Associated hospitals at present have 34 ICU(Ventilator) beds besides high dependency beds. These beds are allotted as per the condition & illness of the patient wherein a calculated call is taken.
On an average all these beds remain occupied given the critical condition of some patients due to various ailments.
Today late afternoon request for ICU bed support for one patient namely shabir Ahmad S/o Abdul Rajab Bhat R/0 Kaka sarai presently admitted in Radiation oncology a case of CA oesophagus was received. The authorities immediately started taking immediate action owing to serious illness of the patient. The process has to follow protocol and evaluation of the patient for shifting to ICU .Owing to the fact that almost all beds were occupied and the authorities were making arrangements ,the relatives of the patient raised a hue and cry.
The bed has been arranged for the patient and patient has been shifted after following due protocol.
There always has been support of general Public, civil society and media in the smooth functioning of the hospital services and we are confident for such continuous support & we further appeal to all not to jump to conclusions without verifying the facts from the hospital authorities.
