Securing Highway Status For Bandipora will be my Top Priority: Nazir Gurezi
“AIP was Backed by Centre in Lok Sabha Polls”
Bandipora, August 23 : Senior National Conference Leader Nazir Gurezi on Friday said that if the National Conference comes to power, his top priority would be securing national highway status for Gurez and Bandipora.
Speaking to reporters, Gurezi dismissed opposition claims that Farooq Abdullah was released by the Enforcement Directorate due to a potential alliance with the BJP, calling such allegations baseless propaganda. He said that this coalition proves the opposition’s narrative wrong.
On assembly elections, Nazir said that while they will be held in the valley, they are not a “gift” for Kashmiris but rather a democratic right.
He expressed disappointment over the lack of significant development in Gurez and Bandipora since the abrogation of Article 370, particularly highlighting the unfulfilled demand for national highway status for Bandipora.
The emotional campaign that previously led to the victory of the Awami Itehad Party (AIP) was backed by the center and may be used again in the upcoming elections.
