SVEEP Awareness Program Held at Khanyar to Boost Voter Participation

SRINAGAR — An awareness program aimed at promoting electoral participation was held today at the Government Girls Higher Secondary School Khanyar, under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative. The event, designed to enhance voter awareness and encourage maximum turnout in the upcoming assembly elections, was attended by students, local citizens, and other stakeholders.

The program was supervised by Aijaz Ahmad Shah, Returning Officer for the 20-Khanyar constituency, Syed Shahid Hussain Shirazi, Assistant Returning Officer for the 20-Khanyar constituency, and Waheeda Sheikh, Principal of the school and the SVEEP Nodal Officer.

A rally, led by SSyed Shahid Hussain Shirazi, Waheeda Sheikh, and Naib Tehsildar Khanyar Shah Asif Mohammad, was held from the school premises to the main chowk in Khanyar. The event focused on engaging the youth and first-time voters, highlighting their crucial role in the democratic process.

During the program, officials provided detailed information about the election process and emphasized the importance of exercising the right to vote. They urged all eligible voters to participate actively in the forthcoming elections, reinforcing the significance of each vote in shaping the future of the region.
