*Shashank Anand to take over as new IG BSF Jammu Frontier*

Jammu, Feb 4: Haryana Cadre IPS officer Shashank Anand has been appointed as new Inspector General, Border Security Force of strategic Jammu Frontier covering International Border from Jammu to Kathua.

As per official sources, IPS Officer Shashak Anand, who was elevated as Inspector General in January this year will take over the charge likely tomorrowof Jammu Frontier being guarded by the BSF as frontline defence force.

He will replace IG D K Boora, who took the command of the important frontier in October, 2021.

“The 2006 batch IPS officer of Haryana cadre, Shashank Anand, was elevated as IG, BSF in January this year following his empanelment to hold IG level posts at the Centre,” sources said. They added that he has been appointed as IG Jammu Frontier.

Notably, the Border Security Force guards 198-km long International Border (IB), extending from Kathua to Akhnoor, which is recognised as an International Border.

The BSF is also deployed as a second line defence force after the Indian Army along the Line of Control.–
