Shopian . March 02, 2025, – Saiqa Syed, a young athlete from Bongam Shopian, has made Kashmir proud with her stellar performance at the National Winter Biathlon Championship 2025*, organized by the Biathlon Association of India on February 20-21 in the snow-clad slopes of Gulmarg.
Competing against top contenders from 12 states, *Saiqa displayed remarkable endurance and precision, clinching Gold in the Junior Category (2.5 km) and Silver in the 5 km event*. Biathlon, a grueling sport that tests both skiing speed and shooting accuracy, demands immense skill and stamina—qualities that Saiqa proved she possesses in abundance.
