Anantnag, Aug 05 : A Border Security Force (BSF) personnel shot himself dead with his service rifle in Ashmuqam area of South Kashmir’s Annatnag district, officials said here on Friday.
An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a BSF personnel shot himself with his service rifle during Yatra duty at JNV Ashmuqam.
He said that the deceased personnel was from Assam and was posted with 108 F Coy battalion.
He further said that soon after he shot himself, his colleagues shifted him to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
The official said that further investigation in this regard has been taken up—(KNO)
