*Vice Chancellor SKUAST Kashmir chairs Annual SAC Meeting at KVK Kupwara*

KUPWARA, AUGUST 23: In a significant stride towards uplifting the farming community of District Kupwara, the Annual Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) Meeting was successfully held today at Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Kupwara under the chairmanship of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganie who also serves as the Chairman of the Scientific Advisory Committee.
The event was graced by Prof. Raihana Habib Kanth, Director Extension, SKUAST Kashmir, as the Guest of Honour. The meeting witnessed the presence of eminent dignitaries, including Heads of various KVKs, District Officers of Line Departments, KVK Kupwara staff, scientific staff from the Directorate of Extension, and progressive farmers of District Kupwara.
The Director ATARI (Zone I) and scientific staff of the zone also participated virtually, adding valuable insights to the proceedings.
The programme commenced with a Welcome Address by Prof. Shahid A. Hakeem, followed by a comprehensive PowerPoint presentation of the Action Taken Report by Dr. Kaiser Mohiuddin Malik, Head KVK Kupwara, highlighting the achievements of the previous year, key action points, and future strategies. Feedback from Line Departments and progressive farmers was then invited, ensuring that their valuable suggestions were incorporated for more impactful and need-based interventions in the district. To recognize and encourage outstanding contributions, several progressive farmers of the district were felicitated with appreciation certificates by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, boosting their morale and commitment to agricultural excellence.
Prof. Raihana Habib Kanth, Director Extension SKUAST-Kashmir in her address, applauded KVK Kupwara for its remarkable efforts in introducing high-yielding crop varieties, conducting extensive farmer outreach programmes, and fostering entrepreneurship among rural youth.
The Vice Chancellor lauded the dedicated work culture of KVK Kupwara and urged the team to explore new opportunities for innovation and improvement, with the vision of making KVK Kupwara one of the leading KVKs in the country.
The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. Firdous Ahmad Raina, who expressed profound gratitude to the dignitaries, participating officers, and KVK staff. He extended special thanks to the District Administration Kupwara for their unwavering support, seamless coordination, and proactive role in the success of KVK initiatives, and also appreciated the media fraternity for their consistent efforts in highlighting agricultural progress, promoting scientific awareness, and connecting the farming community with the latest innovations.
