Sakeena Itoo flags off group of MBBS students for All India Educational Tour Urges students to make most of this opportunity for professional development

SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 15: Minister for Health and Medical Education, Sakeena Itoo flagged off a group of pre-final batch MBBS students of Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar to 15 days All India Education Tour from college premises here today.
Principal, GMC Srinagar, Dr. Iffat Hassan Shah; Administrator Associated Hospitals, Mohammad Ashraf Hakak; HoDs of various departments, faculty members, doctors and large number of students were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the Health Minister said that this educational tour will mark a transformative chapter in the academic journey of our future doctors and give them exposure to diverse medical practices, advanced research environments and interaction with leading medical experts from reputed health institutions they are visiting across the country. She added that this exposure tour will not only broaden their clinical perspectives but also nurture their holistic growth as healthcare leaders of tomorrow.
The Minister further said that this initiative underscores Government’s commitment to strengthening medical education by providing students with real-world exposure beyond classroom teaching.
While extending her wishes to students and accompanying faculty members for the tour, Minister Sakeena urged them to make most of this opportunity to enrich their knowledge and experiences.
Interacting with the Health Minister on the occasion, the students expressed immense gratitude and excitement about the journey ahead, highlighting the importance of such initiatives in their professional development.
Pertinently, this 15 days comprehensive educational tour is designed to provide the students with a unique opportunity to visit some of the nation’s most prestigious medical institutes, hospitals and research centers in New Delhi, Kerala, Goa and other places.
During the tour, the students will traverse several states, engaging in academic interactions, hospital rounds, workshops and seminars that cover a wide spectrum of medical disciplines and emerging healthcare technologies. They will also participate in interactive sessions with eminent medical researchers, observe cutting-edge medical procedures, engage in hands-on workshops and attend lectures on advancements in medical science, public health policy and medical ethics.
