Ganderbal Police Arrest Eight Long-Time Absconders After Years of Evasion Accused Traced Through Persistent Efforts and Technical Surveillance

Ganderbal, Oct 17,: In a major breakthrough, Ganderbal Police have arrested eight absconders who had been evading arrest for several years in connection with criminal cases registered in different parts of the district.

According to police officials, the arrests were made after sustained efforts, intelligence gathering, and extensive technical surveillance. The absconders were identified as Alam Din Khatana, Nazir Ahmad Takad, Mohammad Lateef Takad, Mohammad Shareef Khatana, Mohammad Yaqoob Takad, Mohammad Amin Takad, Mohammad Qasim Khatana, and Showket Ahmad Bhat, all residents of various areas in Lar, Kangan, and Ganderbal.

Police said the individuals had been on the run for decades, frequently changing their locations to avoid capture. However, a dedicated team of officers under the supervision of senior police officials managed to track them down through coordinated field operations and digital monitoring.

“All eight accused persons were produced before the Hon’ble Court of Judicial Magistrate in Ganderbal for further legal proceedings,” a police spokesperson said.

The spokesperson added that the arrests underscore the commitment of Ganderbal Police to uphold the rule of law and ensure that offenders, no matter how long they evade the system, are ultimately brought to justice.

Police have reaffirmed their resolve to continue such operations to strengthen law enforcement and maintain peace and order in the district. [KNT]
