DC Srinagar inspects functioning of ‘‘Palaash” and “Pareesha” (Children Homes) at Gupt Ganga Nishat Assures all possible support from District Admin for welfare of students

SRINAGAR NOVEMBER 06: Deputy Commissioner (DC), Srinagar Akshay Labroo on Tuesday visited “Palash” and “Pareesha” (Children Home for Boys & Girls) at Gupt Ganga Nishat to take stock of the functioning of the Centres and facilities being provided to the enrolled students.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mir Imtiyaz Ul Aziz; Chief Planning Officer, Fayaz Ahmad Dar; Chief Medical Officer, Dr, Tahir Sajad; District Social Welfare Officer, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad; Tehsildar North, Syed Shahid; Block Medical Officer Hazratbal, Deputy CEO, and other concerned accompanied the DC during the visit.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner took stock of the functioning of “Palash” (Children Home for Boys) and “Pareesha” (Children Home for Girls). He went around various sections of both the facilities and inspected reading rooms, classrooms, dormitories, dining and cooking areas, etc.
The DC also enquired about the Lodging, Boarding, Education, Sports, Medicare and other facilities being provided to the enrolled children at the Centres by the Department.
During the visit, the DC also interacted with the children and staff members and took stock of the available facilities including accommodation, education, healthcare and recreational arrangements at both the centres. He emphasized the importance of providing a nurturing and supportive environment for the children’s overall development.
Assuring all possible support from the District Administration, the DC directed the concerned Officers to ensure that every requirement of the enrolled children is met promptly and that welfare initiatives are implemented effectively.
He also appreciated the efforts of the Social Welfare Department, as well as the management and staff of both homes, for their dedication towards the care and well-being of the children.
Responding to the demands of the enrolled inmates, the DC directed the Officers to provide sports kits/equipments for both the centres and to establish a Volleyball Court at the Pareesha.
The DC also asked the Chief Medical Officer to conduct a special health screening cum checkup camp for the children at both the homes.
Meanwhile, the DC emphasized Staff of “Palash” and “Pareesha” to discharge duties with added zeal and dedication to ensure better facilities to the children at both the Centres.
