Srinagar, Nov 07 :
The Inter-District UT Level Athletic Meet 2025–26 for the Girls under-19 category concluded successfully at the beautiful and modern tracks of the University of Kashmir here.
Around 150 athletes representing various districts of the Union Territory of J&K showcased their sports abilities, skills, and sportsmanship to earn a chance to represent the UT at the national level.
An enthusiastic and charged atmosphere marked the event, which witnessed spirited performances from athletes across districts.
District Jammu emerged as the overall champion, followed closely by District Kathua, and District Udhampur which secured the next two positions respectively.
The prize distribution ceremony was graced by DYSSO Srinagar Ghulan Hassan Lone, accompanied by Dr. Basharat Ali, Assistant Director Physical Education & Sports, University of Kashmir.
Other dignitaries present were convenors of different committees, technical officials, and escort staff, whose coordinated efforts ensured the smooth and successful conduct of the event.
The meet concluded with appreciation for the athletes’ discipline and sportsmanship, reaffirming the commitment of the Department of Youth Services and Sports, J&K, to nurture young sporting talent in the Union Territory.
