Government’s priority is to bridge developmental gaps in rural belts with equitable access to all essential services: Sakeena Itoo Inaugurates, lays foundation stones of key developmental projects across Kulgam District Reaffirms Government’s commitment to quality Governance, effective Public Service delivery

KULGAM, NOVEMBER 15: Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education, Sakeena Itoo today undertook an extensive developmental tour of Kulgam district, during which she inaugurated series of developmental projects and also laid foundation stones for multiple public utility facilities aimed at strengthening the district’s health, education and rural infrastructure.
At Government Degree College, Kulgam, Sakeena Itoo laid foundation of Multipurpose Sports Complex in presence of MLA Kulgam, M.Y Tarigami and MLA Devsar, Peerzada Feroze Ahmad. Director School Education Kashmir, Principal GDC Kulgam, ADC Kulgam, CEO Kulgam, CMO Kulgam, other senior officers of district administration, faculty members of College and students were also present on the occasion.
Afterwards, the Minister inaugurated health and wellness centre at Chamgund Kulgam. After inauguration, she inspected the health facility and took round of different sections of the centre.
Interacting with the officers on the occasion, the Minister highlighted the significance of these centres in far-flung and rural areas. She asked the officers to provide best possible medical care to the locals.
Meanwhile, the Minister also inaugurated Library Block, Computer Lab, Art and Craft lab at Government Higher Secondary School D.K Marg Noorabad Kulgam.
On the occasion, the Minister interacted with faculty and students. She highlighted that the Government led by Omar Abdullah is giving priority to education sector with particular focus on rural and far-flung areas. She asked the students to make best use of these facilities for their overall development.
Meanwhile, the Minister also laid foundation stones for Girls Common room at GDC D.H Pora as well as Teachers Quarters near the same college.
Later, the Minister also laid foundation stones of key road projects like Pahlipora Wattoo road and Kutamarg-Zaindar-Thokerpora road.
At Kutamarg, the Minister addressed a massive Public Darbar.
In her address, Sakeena Itoo highlighted that these developmental initiatives reflect the Government’s priority to bridge developmental gaps in rural belts while ensuring equitable access to essential services. She reiterated that improvements in health and education form the backbone of sustainable development and long-term community empowerment.
“The Government is fully committed to delivering transparent, accountable, and people-centric governance. Our continuous focus is on improving public services, upgrading infrastructure and ensuring that every citizen, irrespective of location, benefits from developmental initiatives of the Government”, Sakeena Itoo stated.
She reaffirmed that the Government is working tirelessly to elevate the standards of health services, modernize educational infrastructure and enhance rural development across J&K.
The Minister also encouraged citizens to actively participate in developmental processes and maintain close cooperation with local authorities for their developmental needs. She assured the public that the Government remains steadfast in its mission to ensure quality governance, efficient service delivery, and inclusive development across Jammu & Kashmir.
The locals gathered on the occasion, expressed gratitude to the Minister for accelerated development in the region. The locals highlighted that these Public Darbars play a critical role in bridging the gap between the Government and the people by giving them a direct platform for grievance resolution.
