Fresh light snowfall was recorded at Minimarg and the Zojila Pass on Monday as temperatures across Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh continued to remain below normal, with several places in the Valley settling in the sub-zero range.
According to data compiled by Kashmir Weather, the minimum temperatures in the Kashmir region were: Srinagar minus 1.9ยฐC, Qazigund minus 1.0ยฐC, Pahalgam minus 0.4ยฐC, Kupwara minus 3.2ยฐC, Kokernag 0.2ยฐC, Gulmarg 0.3ยฐC, Pampore minus 3.2ยฐC, Srinagar Airport minus 3.6ยฐC, Awantipora minus 2.0ยฐC, Budgam minus 2.5ยฐC, Anantnag minus 1.4ยฐC, Baramulla minus 4.7ยฐC, Bandipora minus 2.8ยฐC, Ganderbal minus 1.2ยฐC, Sonamarg minus 1.4ยฐC and Zethan Rafiabad minus 4.0ยฐC. Pulwama, Shopian and Kulgam data were not available.
In the Jammu region, Jammu recorded 9.6ยฐC, Banihal 3.5ยฐC, Batote 4.6ยฐC, Katra 9.4ยฐC, Bhaderwah 3.7ยฐC, Kathua 7.4ยฐC, Jammu Airport 9.8ยฐC, Udhampur 5.8ยฐC, Ramban 6.6ยฐC, Samba 4.5ยฐC, Rajouri 2.8ยฐC, Kishtwar 7.9ยฐC, Reasi 8.1ยฐC, while data for Doda was not available.
In Ladakh, Leh recorded minus 4.6ยฐC, Kargil minus 3.8ยฐC, and Nubra Valley minus 3.9ยฐC.
Weather officials said the light snowfall at Minimarg and Zojila Pass did not disrupt traffic movement but cold conditions are likely to intensify in the coming days.(KNS).
