*Sopore Police Apprehend Drug Peddler; Charas Powder Seized at Hibdangerpora Crossing*

Sopore, December 7, 2025:
Sopore Police today apprehended a drug peddler during patrolling duty at Hibdangerpora Crossing, under the jurisdiction of Police Post Watergam.

The patrolling party intercepted a suspicious individual who was later identified as:
• Sajad Ahmad Ganaie, S/O Mohammad Abdullah Ganaie, R/O Behrampora.

Upon his personal search, police recovered charas-powder–like substance wrapped in a polythene bag.

In this regard, FIR No. 132/2025 under Section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Dangiwacha, and investigation has been taken up to trace the source and further linkages.

Sopore Police reiterate their commitment to maintaining zero tolerance against drug peddling and urge the public to cooperate in efforts to eradicate the drug menace from society.
