Srinagar, Dec 11 : A CRPF constable deployed in Srinagar’s Nishat area allegedly died by suicide on duty on Thursday after shooting himself with his service rifle.
Official sources told news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC that the deceased has been identified as constable hailing from Kodarma district of Jharkhand.
The incident took place near Karpora, where the constable allegedly fired a single round from his INSAS service rifle, resulting in a fatal head injury.
They said that the circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation, and a departmental inquiry has been ordered to determine the exact sequence of events. (KNC)
