*Under the operation “Drugs free kulgam”; kulgam police arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substance from their possession*
Kulgam police under the close supervision of SSP Kulgam is making every effort to hunt down the drug peddlers in the district and to put them behind the bars.
In this regard, police party headed by *Police Post Mirbazar* established a checkpoint (Naka) at Furrah Bypass. During checking two persons roaming in suspicious circumstances after noticing police party tried to flee from the spot. However, they were chased and apprehended tactfully. After checking, officers present were able to recover *115 grams of Charas* like contraband substance from their possession. They have been identified as Javaid Gulzar Ganie and Shahid Mushtaq Bhat both residents of Furrah.
Regarding this incident, a Case *FIR No. 252/2025 U/S 8/20, 29* of NDPS Act stands registered in *Police Station Qazigund* and investigation has been set into motion.
General public is requested to come forward with any information regarding Drug peddling/anti-social activity in their vicinity and extend their cooperation to Police Kulgam in eradicating the drug menace from the society as Drugs are consuming the precious lives and career of our young generation.
