The higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir are currently witnessing light snowfall, with about 1 – 2 inches of fresh accumulation reported at Gulmarg & Sonamarg, and 6 inches at Sadhna Top, while the plains continue to receive intermittent light rain.
Now, as the day progresses, rain and snow activity is likely to increase across J&K, bringing much-needed relief that we all prayed for.
Rain will largely dominate the plains, but if moderate rainfall continues into the late afternoon or evening, temperatures may drop enough for snowfall to occur at a few places even in the plains. Meanwhile, the higher reaches are expected to receive a moderate spell of snowfall during this period.
