Declamation Competition on Drug Abuse held at HKM GDC Bandipora

BANDIPORA, DECEMBER 22: The NCORD Cell and NSS Unit of the College, in collaboration with the District Police Bandipora, organized a Declamation Competition on Monday on the theme “Drug Abuse: Causes, Consequences, and the Way Forward” in the College Auditorium.
The programme was aimed at sensitizing students about the growing menace of drug abuse and its serious social, psychological, and health-related consequences.
In his address, the Principal, Dr. Mubashir Hamid Mir, emphasized the importance of collective institutional and social efforts in combating drug abuse, especially among the youth.
Students from various semesters participated in the competition and delivered powerful, thought-provoking, and well-researched speeches highlighting the causes, consequences, and preventive measures related to drug abuse. The participants eloquently expressed their concerns over the alarming rise of substance abuse and called for awareness, education, and community responsibility.
On the occasion, SHO Bandipora, Peerzada Wasim Ahmad delivered a detailed and insightful lecture on the hazards, root causes, and the present situation of the drug menace, particularly in the district. His address proved highly informative and motivating for the students, encouraging them to stay vigilant and contribute actively to creating a drug-free society.
Based on the performance, Muzamil Manzoor (3rd Semester) secured the First Position, Rafia Bint Mohammad (1st Semester) bagged the Second Position, while the Third Position was awarded to Aksar Shafi (1st Semester).
