Weather Update |
The Western Disturbance has now moved out of Jammu and Kashmir. However, it managed to add a few more inches of snowfall overnight in parts of Anantnag, Kulgam, Shopian, Baramulla, Budgam, Bandipora, and Kishtwar.
Moreover, Rajouri town also witnessed a snowfall spell, which is a rare occurrence.
Overall, snowfall was reported from areas that haven’t seen snow in nearly a decade. This was mainly because the Western Disturbance carried a strong cold air mass, creating favourable conditions and a sharp temperature drop even in otherwise warmer regions.
Weather conditions are expected to remain largely dry over the next 48 hours.
Looking ahead, another Western Disturbance is likely to approach from Monday afternoon onwards, bringing light to moderate rain/snow across parts of J&K.
