SRINAGAR, JANUARY 26: Republic Day was celebrated by the Directorate of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Kashmir with enthusiasm and patriotic fervour, wherein the National Flag was unfurled by the Director, Dr. Owais Ahmad, at Shaheed Gunj, Srinagar.
On the occasion, he extended greetings and highlighted the significance of the day, recalling the sacrifices of the freedom fighters and reaffirming commitment to the values of the Constitution.
Dr. Owais Ahmad, in his address, highlighted key initiatives of the Department, including strengthening food security, optimizing logistics resulting in savings of nearly ₹2 crore annually, and reviving enforcement wings to regulate market prices and safeguard consumer interests. He emphasized that these initiatives reflect the Department’s focus on transparency, accountability, and efficient service delivery.
The ceremony concluded with a reaffirmation of the Department’s resolve towards good governance, innovation, and uninterrupted supply of essential commodities to all citizens.
