Appointment of Mr. Inam Ul Haq Siddiqui KAS as Ombudsman

In pursuance of Government Order No. 61-JK (RD&PR) of 2026 dated 26.02.2026, Mr. Inam Ul Haq Siddiqui, former Senior KAS Officer, has been appointed as Ombudsman.
In recognition of his distinguished service record and vast administrative experience, Mr. Siddiqui has been allotted the prestigious districts of Srinagar and Ganderbal, including the Hon’ble Chief Minister’s constituency.
Mr. Siddiqui is an accomplished public sector leader with over three decades of progressive service in the Government of Jammu & Kashmir. During his illustrious career, he has held several key administrative, planning, and developmental assignments, including:
Additional Secretary to Government
Chief Executive Officer, Gulmarg Development Authority
Joint Director, Information Department
Assistant Commissioner (Revenue)
Assistant Commissioner (Settlement)
Assistant Commissioner (Development)
Deputy Director (Social Welfare & Planning)
Project Director, Governor’s Grievance Cell
In these roles, he played a pivotal part in strengthening grievance redressal systems, ensuring accountability, and enhancing governance delivery mechanisms.
He has also been closely associated with World Bank–funded development projects, contributing significantly to planning, monitoring & evaluation, financial oversight, land records modernization, and inter-departmental coordination.
Mr. Siddiqui received advanced professional training in Management Information Systems and Data Monitoring & Evaluation from the University of East Anglia, Norwich (United Kingdom). He also underwent specialized training with the Department of Space, Government of India, Hyderabad, strengthening his expertise in technology-driven governance and evidence-based policy formulation.
Widely respected for integrity, professionalism, and result-oriented governance, Mr. Siddiqui was conferred the Lieutenant Governor’s Award for Honesty, Integrity, and Meritorious Public Service by the Government of Jammu & Kashmir.
His appointment as Ombudsman is expected to further reinforce transparency, fairness, and effective grievance redressal mechanisms in the assigned districts.
