Two Tippers Seized in Illegal Mining Crackdown in Kulgam; FIR Registered

Kulgam, March 02: Continuing its sustained campaign against illegal mining, the Kulgam Police on Sunday seized two tippers involved in the unauthorized extraction and transportation of minerals in the Khudwaniโ€“Qaimoh area of the district.
According to official sources, a police party from Police Station Qaimoh was conducting routine naka checking when they intercepted two tippers found transporting mining material without valid royalty documents. Upon verification, the vehicles were found to be engaged in illegal mining-related activities.
In this connection, FIR No. 19/2026 under relevant provisions of law has been registered at Police Station Qaimoh, and further investigation has been initiated to ascertain the involvement of other persons, if any, in the illegal operation.
Kulgam Police reiterated its firm commitment to safeguarding the districtโ€™s natural resources and taking strict legal action against those involved in unlawful mining activities. The police emphasized that such drives will continue in the future to curb the menace of illegal extraction and transportation of minerals.
The general public has been urged to cooperate with the police by reporting any instances of illegal mining in their areas. Authorities assured that the identity of informants will be kept strictly confidential, and stringent action will be taken against violators in accordance with the law.
