*Police Organises Cybercrime Awareness Programmes Across Police District Awantipora.*

In order to create awareness among the general public about cybercrimes and to strengthen police-public outreach, Police in Awantipora organised a series of Cyber Awareness Programmes across Police District Awantipora.
The programmes were chaired by respective SHOs, and IC PPs wherein students, teachers, and members of the general public participated enthusiastically.
The main objective of these programmes was to educate participants about different types of cyber frauds and to promote safe online practices among students and citizens.
Speaking on the occasion, the officers urged participants to adopt safe browsing habits, avoid visiting suspicious websites, and refrain from sharing personal or financial details such as OTPs, passwords, or bank account information. They also advised the public to exercise caution while conducting online banking and digital transactions, and to remain vigilant while using social media platforms, particularly when accepting friend requests or engaging with unknown individuals.
Participants were briefed about various cyber threats, including identity theft, credit card fraud, data theft, cyberstalking, OTP scams, and online gaming frauds.
The participants appreciated the efforts of Police Awantipora for organising such informative awareness programmes and for taking proactive steps to educate the public about the growing menace of cybercrime.
