DGP J&K Reviews Security, CT Operations in Awantipora

Director General of Police, Jammu and Kashmir, Nalin Prabhat (IPS) on Saturday chaired a comprehensive review meeting to assess the overall security scenario, counter-terror (CT) operations and the prevailing law and order situation in Police District Awantipora.
The meeting was held at the District Police Office Awantipora and was attended by senior officers including Special DG Coordination PHQ J&K S. J. M. Gillani (IPS), Inspector General of Police Kashmir Zone V. K. Birdi (IPS), DIG South Kashmir Range Javid Iqbal Matoo (IPS), SSP Awantipora, Additional SP Awantipora, all SDPOs and Dy.SP SOGs.
During the meeting, the DGP took a detailed review of the prevailing security situation in the district with special focus on ongoing counter-terror operations, both kinetic and non-kinetic. He also assessed the measures being implemented by the police to curb drug abuse and other criminal activities in the area.
Emphasising the need for sustained and focused efforts, the DGP directed officers to further intensify the drive against anti-national elements, drug trafficking and other unlawful activities. He instructed the officers to take strict and effective action against individuals involved in such activities and ensure that law and order is maintained across the district.
The DGP stressed the importance of strong coordination among different security agencies, intelligence-based operations and proactive policing to maintain peace and stability in the region. He also underscored the need for officers to remain vigilant, disciplined and responsive while discharging their duties.
Appreciating the efforts of the officers and jawans deployed in the district, the DGP commended their dedication and commitment in maintaining security and urged all ranks to remain alert, disciplined and mission-oriented while continuing their operations to ensure safety and stability in the region.(CNS)
