JDA Demolishes Over 15 Illegal Structures Along Ring Road in Jammu

Jammu, May 4- – The Jammu Development Authority (JDA) on Monday carried out a major demolition drive along the Ring Road corridor as part of its ongoing efforts to curb unauthorized constructions and promote planned urban development.
During the enforcement action, more than 15 незаконally constructed structures were demolished. Officials said the buildings had been raised without obtaining the required permissions from the competent authority and were in clear violation of approved land use norms and building regulations.
According to preliminary assessments, several of these structures posed a serious threat to public safety. Many were found to be structurally unsound or encroaching upon critical areas, thereby increasing the risk to nearby residential and commercial establishments.
The demolition drive was executed by the Enforcement Wing of JDA with support from local administration and law enforcement agencies. Authorities confirmed that the operation was conducted smoothly and without any untoward incident. Prior notices had been served to the violators, ensuring due legal process was followed.
Reiterating its commitment to planned urban growth, the JDA urged the public to strictly adhere to building norms and obtain necessary approvals before undertaking any construction activity. It warned that unauthorized constructions not only violate the law but also endanger public safety and disrupt orderly development.
The Authority further emphasized that similar enforcement drives will continue in the future, with strict action against all violations without exception.
