Teacher among 2 arrested for aiding foreign terrorists in Kishtwar

Jammu & Kashmir Police have arrested two persons, including a teacher, for allegedly providing assistance to foreign terrorists in Kishtwar district, officials said.

According to police, the accused were linked to facilitating aid and support to terrorists operating from a hideout in the Singhpora area of Chatroo in Kishtwar.

A case has been registered at Police Station Chatroo under FIR No. 03/2026, invoking multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), and Arms Act.

Senior Superintendent of Police Naresh Singh said that during a meticulous investigation and targeted operations, police arrested Mashkoor Ahmed, son of Mohammad Ramzan, a resident of Beighpora Singhpora, Kishtwar, who works as a teacher in the School Education Department.

Police said the accused was directly involved in facilitating the terrorists’ hideout, and the arrest has disrupted a key logistical support network aiding terror activities in the region.
