*Anantnag Police Cracks Down on Illegal Mining, One JCB and Three Tractors Seized*

Anantnag, 20 May 2026:Continuing its drive against illegal mining activities across the district, Anantnag Police intercepted and seized one JCB machine and three tractors involved in illegal extraction of bajri from a nallah at Hakura and Rooh.

The action was taken during a special operation conducted by Police, during which the vehicles were found engaged in unauthorized mining activities. Cognizance of the matter was taken on the spot and all the vehicles involved were seized as per legal procedure. Further legal action under relevant provisions of law has been initiated.

Anantnag Police reiterates its commitment towards curbing illegal mining activities which pose serious threats to the environment and public resources.
