Hailstorm Causes Extensive Damage to Orchards in Tral; G M Kantroo Seeks Immediate Relief

Tral, June 10th : A severe hailstorm that hit several areas of Sub-District Tral on Wednesday caused significant damage to apple orchards and other fruit crops, raising concerns among the farming community.

Civil society and political leader G M Kantroo expressed deep concern over the losses suffered by orchardists, stating that the untimely hailstorm struck at a crucial flowering stage, adversely affecting crop prospects and growers’ incomes.

Describing the situation as distressing, Kantroo said horticulture is the primary source of livelihood for thousands of families in the region and that the damage has dealt a major blow to farmers. He urged the district administration to conduct an immediate assessment of the losses and provide adequate compensation and relief to the affected growers without delay.

He also assured the farming community of his support and called for swift government intervention to mitigate their hardships.
