*Woman Succumbs to Injuries in Srinagar Hit-and-Run Case; Police Probe Underway*

*Deceased Was a Relative of Gulistan News Kashmir Technical Head Sameer Wani*

Srinagar, June 18: A woman from Barzulla Baghat Sector-II, Srinagar, who was critically injured in a hit-and-run accident, succumbed to her injuries on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Arooja Wani, who was hit by an unidentified vehicle near Ahmad Hospital on the Nowgam Bypass on Wednesday while walking along the road with her relatives.

Following the accident, she was immediately shifted to SMHS Hospital Srinagar for treatment. However, despite medical efforts, she succumbed to her injuries on Thursday.
Police have registered FIR No. 121/26 at Police Station Nowgam and initiated an investigation into the incident.

Speaking to Gulistan News, the SHO Nowgam said that police are scrutinizing CCTV footage from the area to identify the vehicle and driver involved in the accident. He said that while the vehicle is visible in some footage, its registration details have not yet been clearly established.

The officer said that police are making every effort to trace and arrest the accused driver at the earliest. Further investigation into the case is underway.

Pertinently, the deceased woman was the wife of the uncle of Gulistan News Kashmir Technical Head, Sameer Wani.
