*Anantnag Police Apprehends Drug Peddler in Bijbehara; Charas Powder Recovered.*
Anantnag, 19 June 2026:
Continuing its sustained drive against drug trafficking and substance abuse, Anantnag Police achieved another success by apprehending a drug peddler in the Bijbehara area and recovering a contraband substance from his possession.
During a routine police operation conducted during the night, a team from Police Station Bijbehara apprehended one individual identified as Tariq Ahmad Dass S/O Mohammad Rafiq Dass, resident of Dasspora Waghama, at Waghama. During his search, approximately 110 grams of a charas powder was recovered from his possession.
Accordingly, FIR No. 172/2026 under Section 8/20 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Bijbehara, and investigation into the matter has been taken up.
