LG Manoj Sinha orders action in controversial school library books row

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has ordered the suspension of eight School Education Department officials and the disengagement of a contractual employee over the circulation of controversial books in government school libraries. A high-level inquiry has also been ordered, with the report to be submitted within 30 days.
The administration has blacklisted the authors and publishers of two books found carrying objectionable and separatist-related content and directed the withdrawal of all their publications from circulation across Jammu and Kashmir. The action follows a review of books supplied under the Samagra Shiksha library programme after concerns were raised regarding the content of the publications.
