*J&K Police seize four vehicles in illegal mining crackdown in Baramulla*

*July 05:* “`Continuing its sustained drive against illegal mining, Baramulla Police, in close coordination with the Mining & Geology Department, carried out enforcement action at different locations across the district under the provisions of the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) (MMDR) Act.
During the drive, two tippers bearing registration Nos. JK03C-7154 and JK01O-6166 were seized at Tangmarg for transporting Bajri and Dust without valid royalty documents. A tractor bearing Chassis No. 00650543901 was also seized at Dargam for its involvement in the illegal extraction of minerals. In a separate action at Pattan, a tipper bearing registration No. JK05L-3464 was intercepted while illegally transporting sand. The vehicle was subsequently seized through the authorised officer of the Mining & Geology Department under the provisions of the MMDR Act.
Police remains committed to taking stringent action against illegal mining and unauthorised transportation of minerals. The public is urged to report any such unlawful activities, as strict legal action will continue against all violators.“`
