Inter-District Drug Peddlers Arrested with Heroin-Like Substance; Luxury Sedan Seized by Jammu (Rural) Police

Continuing its sustained drive against drug trafficking under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Abhiyaan, Jammu (Rural) Police achieved a major success by arresting two inter-district drug peddlers and recovering a heroin-like substance (Chitta) during naka checking in the jurisdiction of Police Station Nagrota.

A police team of Police Station Nagrota, while conducting naka checking at Ban Toll Plaza during the intervening night of July 12/13, intercepted a luxury sedan car moving under suspicious circumstances.

During the search of the vehicle, police recovered a heroin-like substance (Chitta) from the possession of the occupants. The accused have been identified as:

– Salman Khan, son of Nazir Ahmed, resident of Kheri Larey, Udhampur.
– Sunil Kumar, son of Bittu Ram, resident of Bali Moud, Udhampur.

A case FIR No. 176/2026 under Sections 8/21/22/25/29 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Nagrota, and both accused were arrested on the spot. The luxury sedan used in the commission of the offence has also been seized.

Further investigation is underway to establish the forward and backward linkages of the narcotics network and identify other persons involved in the illegal trade.

Jammu (Rural) Police reiterated its commitment to eradicating the drug menace from society and appealed to the public to cooperate by sharing information related to drug trafficking and narcotics activities.
