*SHO Beerwah Hailed for Saving Dozens Before Floodwaters Swept Away Shopping Complex*

Budgam, July 22, : A potentially catastrophic tragedy was averted in Beerwah yesterday after Station House Officer (SHO) Beerwah, Mudasir Nazar, displayed exceptional courage and presence of mind by evacuating dozens of shoppers and shopkeepers from a shopping complex just minutes before it was swept away by raging floodwaters.

As torrential rains triggered flash floods in the area and water levels rose alarmingly, SHO Mudasir Nazar rushed to the multi-storey shopping complex after assessing the imminent danger posed by the swelling stream.

Ignoring the personal risk, the police officer climbed to the second floor of the building and directed people to immediately vacate the premises. He personally supervised the evacuation, ensuring that every shopper and shopkeeper was moved to safety before the structure succumbed to the force of the flood.

Within minutes of the evacuation, the shopping complex, housing at least 32 shops, was swept away by the gushing waters, reducing the entire structure to rubble.

The timely intervention is widely believed to have saved dozens of lives, preventing what could have been one of the worst tragedies witnessed in the area during the ongoing spell of extreme weather.

People present at the scene praised the SHO and his team for their prompt response, saying the officer acted without hesitation despite the rapidly deteriorating conditions.

The rescue has drawn widespread appreciation, with many describing the action of SHO Mudasir Nazar as an outstanding example of courage, leadership and dedication to public service in the face of grave danger.
