The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Crime Branch Jammu has filed a chargesheet against a former employee of ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company for allegedly cheating, forgery and fraud in connection with a fraudulent insurance claim worth over ₹10.75 lakh.
The chargesheet was presented before the Court of the 3rd Additional Munsiff Judge, Jammu, against accused Parul Sharma in FIR No. 02/2013 registered under relevant sections of the RPC. Investigations revealed that the accused allegedly used forged documents to surrender a life insurance policy and diverted ₹10.75 lakh into a fake SBI account opened in the genuine policyholder’s name. The probe also uncovered attempts to fraudulently surrender two other insurance policies using similar methods.
