*J&K Police seizes 08 vehicles for illegal extraction & transportation of minor minerals in Ganderbal*

*August 10:* “`Continuing its sustained drive against illegal mining and transportation of minerals, J&K Police in Ganderbal seized 08 Vehicles; including, 02 Tipper, 03 Tractors, 03 Dumpers for illegal extraction of Minor Minerals in the jurisdiction of PS Ganderbal, PS Kangan, PS Kheerbawani & PS Safapora.

These vehicles were found extracting and transporting mining material without valid authorization, in violation of the prescribed norms. Accordingly, the vehicles were seized on the spot and the matter was taken up with the concerned Geology & Mining Department, which subsequently imposed the requisite fine under the relevant provisions of law.

Police reiterated its commitment to curb illegal mining activities and urged the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies in protecting natural resources. Strict action will continue against those found indulging in such unlawful practices.“`
