Tiranga Rally in Srinagar: Boulevard Road to Remain Restricted From 5 AM to 10 AM on Aug 12

Traffic Police issues route plan; motorists advised to use alternate routes, designated parking made mandatory

Srinagar, Aug 10: Srinagar Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory for August 12 in view of a Tiranga Rally being organised from SKICC to Botanical Garden, with VIPs, dignitaries and citizens expected to participate.

According to the advisory issued by SSP Traffic City Srinagar Aijaz Ahmad Bhat stated that the traffic movement on Boulevard Road from Lalit Ghat to Kralsangri will remain restricted from 5:00 AM to 10:00 AM on August 12.

Motorists travelling towards Nishat, Shalimar and Harwan have been advised to use the Dalgate–Rainawari–Hazratbal route instead of the Boulevard Road axis.

Similarly, motorists travelling from Harwan, Shalimar, Nishat and adjoining areas towards Lal Chowk have been advised to use the Foreshore–Hazratbal route instead of the Nishat–Boulevard Road axis.

Motorists from Gulab Bagh, Zakoora, Naseembagh, Habbak and adjoining areas have been advised to use the Habak Dargah–Khanyar route to reach Lal Chowk instead of Foreshore Road.

The Traffic Police said designated parking facilities for rally participants will be available at Barista near Lalit Ghat and Makai Point towards Kralsangri, while official vehicles will be parked at the Botanical Garden.

Participants have been advised to park their vehicles only at designated parking locations and avoid roadside parking. Wrongly parked vehicles will be towed, the advisory said.

Emergency vehicles will be allowed to take the shortest available route.

The advisory has been issued by Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, IPS, SSP Traffic City Srinagar, who said inconvenience to the general public, if any, is regretted.
