Search On For 2nd Day To Trace 9-Year-Old Who Drowned In Nallah Sindh In Ganderbal, Issues Advisory For Parents And Guardians

Ganderbal: Search operation is underway for second consecutive day to trace a 9-year-old boy who reportedly drowned in Nallah Sindh in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.

Officials told that SDRF rescue teams from Bn Hqrs Srinagar, Ganderbal, Gund along with local volunteers are jointly carrying out the operation to trace and retrieve the body of Mohammed Mohsin, son of Mukthar Ahmad, resident of Bamloora, Ganderbal, who drowned on Aug 23 near Fire and Emergency Headquarters Fatehpora, Ganderbal.

Meanwhile SDRF has issued an advisory, urging parents and guardians to keep children away from rivers, streams, nallahs, ponds and other water bodies, particularly during periods of high water flow.

Children should never be allowed near such locations without close adult supervision, it said.

Everyone is requested to exercise extreme caution and follow water-safety precautions to prevent such tragic incidents, the advisory added.(GNS)
