Tahir Saleem Takes Over as SSP Handwara

Handwara, Aug Tahir Saleem has formally assumed charge as the new Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Police District Handwara, taking over the reins of the district police amid a major reshuffle in the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
Tahir Saleem succeeds Sahil Sarangal, who has been posted as SSP Pulwama. His appointment comes as part of a broader administrative reshuffle aimed at strengthening the policing apparatus and ensuring greater operational efficiency across the Union Territory.
Upon assuming charge, the new SSP is expected to spearhead intensified policing, tighten the security grid and further strengthen coordination between the police and the public.
The officer will have overall responsibility for maintaining law and order, tackling criminal activities and ensuring effective security and policing mechanisms across Police District Handwara.
The change of command comes at a time when effective policing, swift response and robust public confidence remain key priorities for the security establishment in the region.
