*Massive Crackdown on Drugs in Anantnag: 6 Drug Peddlers Arrested, Charas & Heroin Recovered*

Continuing its sustained drive against the drug menace, Anantnag Police has arrested Six persons in separate incidents across the district and recovered contraband from their possession.
At Sirhama Crossing, Police Station Srigufwara, during surprise naka checking, apprehended Khurshid Ahmad Nengroo S/o Gh. Ahmad Nengroo R/o Nowshara. During his search, 70 grams of charas was recovered from his possession.
In separate incidents, Police Station Bijbehara apprehended Ubaid Majeed Shah S/o Ab. Majeed Shah R/o Guree at Pazalpora and recovered 15 grams of charas from his possession. In another incident near Wopzan, Mohd Shameem Das S/o Assadullah Das R/o Waghama was apprehended and 15 grams of charas was recovered.
Further, near Tulkhan, Police Station Bijbehara apprehended Muneeb Ahmad Ganie S/o Manzoor Ahmad R/o Akad Mattan, from whose possession 14 grams of charas was recovered.
Meanwhile, Police Post GBS established a naka at Chee Tarbal Bridge, during which two persons, Zubair Ahmad Palla S/o Mohd Abass Palla R/o Reshi Colony Mir Danter, Anantnag and Danish Mushtaq S/o Mushtaq Ahmad Malik R/o Nowbugh Larnoo, were apprehended. During the operation, 3.37 grams of heroin, ₹11,800 in Indian currency and a weighing machine were recovered from their possession.
Cognizance has been taken in the respective cases, and further investigation is underway. Anantnag Police reiterates its commitment to continuing stringent action against drug trafficking and ensuring a drug-free society.
