Shopian, October 07 Shopian Police arrested a suspected drug peddler and recovered 1.95 grams of heroin-like substance and ₹12,050 cash from his possession during naka checking at Aglar.
The accused was identified as Feroz Ahmad Mir, son of Noor Mohd Mir, a resident of Litter, Pulwama.
Police said the accused was intercepted by a team from Police Station Zainapora under suspicious circumstances. During his search, the contraband and cash were recovered.
A case under FIR No. 126/2026 has been registered at Police Station Zainapora under relevant sections of law, and further investigation is underway to ascertain the source of the substance and establish forward and backward linkages
