*Labourer killed as iron rod falls on him in Bandipora’s Sumbal*

Srinagar, Oct 11 A 20-year-old non-local labourer died after an iron rod accidentally fell on him, working at bridge in Sumbal area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Sunday.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) the man sustained severe head injuries after the iron rod fell on him from a height while he was working at an under-construction bridge in Sumbal Bandipora.

He was shifted to Srinagar hospital after being referred from Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Bandipora, where doctors declared him brought dead.

He was identified as Basit (20), son of Abdul Rashid, a resident of Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh.

Meanwhile, investigation has been taken up while probe is underway.—(KNO)
