**Anantnag Police Takes Action Against Drug Trafficking; Two Drug Peddlers Arrested, Contraband Substances Seized**

Anantnag, October 18, 2026:In its ongoing drive against drug trafficking, Anantnag Police apprehended two drug peddlers in separate naka checking operations in Larnoo and Dooru and recovered contraband substances from their possession.

At Nowbough, a police party from Police Station Larnoo apprehended **Mohd Abass Wani, S/o Ab Rahman Wani, R/o Nowbough, Larnoo**. During the search, 720 grams of cannabis powder was recovered from his possession. A case under the relevant provisions of law has been registered, and investigation is underway.

Meanwhile, a police party from Police Station Dooru established a naka near Nowpora, where **Sufion Badsh, S/o Usman Gani, R/o Assam**, was apprehended. During his personal search, approximately 95 grams of charas was recovered. Accordingly, **FIR No. 166/2026 under Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act** has been registered at Police Station Dooru, and further investigation is in progress.
