Awantipora, Oct 26th : Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Awantipora, Irshad H. Rather (JKPS), on Monday held an interaction with media representatives at the District Police Office (DPO), Awantipora, emphasising the imperative of stronger institutional coordination and transparent communication.
The meeting deliberated on streamlining police-media engagement, ensuring the prompt dissemination of authentic information and reinforcing cooperation in the larger public interest.
SSP Rather assured journalists of timely access to information and highlighted the media’s indispensable role in promoting public awareness, safeguarding democratic principles and enhancing confidence between law enforcement agencies and the public.
Describing the media as a vital pillar of democracy, he stressed that professional reporting, transparency and sustained engagement were essential for dispelling communication gaps and strengthening public trust.
