Venue changed for PM Modi’s rally in Srinagar

Srinagar, Mar 01, KDC: The venue of the Prime Minister’s rally in summer capital Srinagar has been changed from Sheri- Kashmir International Convention centre (SKICC) to Bakshi Stadium here.

Reliable sources told Srinagar based news agency Kashmir Dot Com that the venue for the Prime Minister’s rally has been changed from SKICC to Bakshi Stadium in view of large gatherings. Around 25000-30000 people are expected to join this mega rally.

Preparations for PM Modi’s Srinagar visit have been given final shape. The date has been confirmed as March 7,” a BJP leader said.

This will be the second visit by PM Modi to J&K since February 20, the day he addressed a massive public rally in Jammu where he also inaugurated projects worth Rs 32000 crore.

A police officer said that security has been beefed up in the summer capital, especially around the Bakshi Stadium, the new venue of his rally.

The surveillance has been beefed up in other parts of Srinagar and additional check posts have come up for frisking to monitor movement of people. (KDC)
