Budgam July 01: Police in Budgam have solved a theft case by arresting 02 accused person involved in the commission of crime. Besides, recovered stolen property from their possession.
Police Post Waterihail received a complaint from a shopkeeper to the effect that 02 bike borne youth disguised as customer and fled away with 08 boxes of cigarettes with 24 cigarette packets in each box.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 100/2022 under relevant sections of law was registered at PS Khansahib and investigation was initiated.
During the course of investigation, officers investigating the case were able to zeroed in on two persons after utilising all available means including analysing CCTV footages. They have been identified as Umer Hassan son of Ghulam Hassan Mir & Nadeem Yousuf Bhat son of Yousuf Bhat, both residents of Kalshipora Khansahib. Subsquently, they have been arrested and shifted to Police Station. Moreover, motorcycle used in the commission of crime has also been seized.
Stolen property has also been recovered from their possession. Further investigation is going on.
Police have once again requested the shopkeepers and other business owners to install CCTV Cameras in their establishments so that such kind of incidents can be curbed.
