DGP sanctions 44 lakh as Special Welfare relief for NoKs of deceased Police personnel

Also sanctions financial assistance for marriage ceremony of martyrs daughters

Srinagar 01 July: With an aim to provide financial succour to the families of the Police personnel who have passed away while in service, the Director General of Police, J&K, Shri Dilbag Singh has sanctioned Special Welfare Relief of rupees 44 lakh. He has also sanctioned financial assistance of rupees one lakh each for the marriage ceremony of martyrs’ daughters and welfare loan of rupees 10 lakh for self treatment of serving Police personnel vide different orders of Police Headquarters.

Special Welfare relief of rupees 22 lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of dependents/legal heirs of deceased HC Mohammad Yousuf and HC Ghulam Mohi-ud-din who passed aways while in service. These deceased personnel have passed away due to illness/ natural death while in service.

Rupees one lakh each has already been paid to NoKs of these deceased police personnel through their concerned units for performing last rites. The Special Welfare Relief is sanctioned out of Contributory Police Welfare Funds.

He has also sanctioned special welfare loan of rupees five lakh each in favour of two Police personnel to ease out their urgent financial needs for their self treatment who are suffering from chronic diseases. The welfare loan amount is refundable.

The DGP has also sanctioned Rupees one lakh each as financial assistance in favour of NoKs of martyrs SI Mohd Azad Shah and HC Nazir Ahmad Khatana to defray the expenses in connection with the marriage ceremonies of their daughters.

Police Headquarters is running many schemes for the welfare of its personnel and their families. There are also schemes for the wards of Police personnel and SPOs. Besides, there are schemes for the NoKs of martyrs, their wards and also for the retired Police personnel and their spouses.
