Ganderbal, August 2, : Nine persons, including the driver, were injured after a Xylo vehicle skidded off the road and overturned at Hayan in the Kangan area of Ganderbal district on Saturday, officials said.
The vehicle, bearing registration number JK02CS-7581, was travelling from Srinagar to Ladakh when the driver reportedly lost control on a slippery stretch of road. Preliminary reports suggest that overspeeding coupled with wet road conditions led to the accident.
All the injured passengers, including the driver, were immediately shifted to the Sub-District Hospital Kangan for treatment.
Hospital sources said the condition of all the injured is stable and they are undergoing medical care.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated further proceedings to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.
