*J&K Police continues crackdown on illegal mining in Pulwama; Two vehicles Seized, One Challaned*

*September 02:* “`Continuing its sustained drive against illegal mining, J&K Police took firm action in two separate cases involving the unauthorized extraction and transportation of mineral resources.
During patrolling at Wahibugh, Romshi Nallah, a police party of Police Post Newa, in coordination with the Geology and Mining Department, intercepted a tractor loaded with illegally extracted boulders. The vehicle was seized and subsequently challaned by the Geology and Mining Department for further necessary action. In another operation, a police party of Police Station Litter, during patrolling at Petipora Crossing, intercepted two dumpers bearing registration numbers JK13K-5811 and JK13J-5811, loaded with illegally acquired boulders. Both vehicles were seized and legal action was initiated. Accordingly, FIR No. 110/2026 under Sections 303(2) and 324(3) has been registered at Police Station Litter, and investigation has been taken up.
Police remains committed to taking strict action against illegal mining and urges the public to report such activities to help protect the district’s natural resources.“`
